根据《考试说明》的要求，所选材料应为一段情景丰富的对话，体现时代气息，符合中学生特点，信息量大，语言符合真实交际，学生易于理解把握。材料还应创设一个较为明确的语境，具有口语特征，语言地道、流畅，听起来自然、真实。

（二）考查要求

对话填空作为一段对话材料，主要考查考生以下能力：

1．情景识别，得体交际

对话作为口语题材，往往是围绕一个话题展开，如何识别特定情景，区分中国和英美文化差异，充分考虑口语因素，进而得体交际显得尤为重要。

2．词汇记忆，语法运用

考生要熟悉大纲词汇，并根据所给首字母的提示（首字母的提示实际上是给考生限定范围，某种意义上也是为了降低考试难度），不要错误认为对话填空一定要考长词、难词，高考并非想难为考生，考得更多的还是一些熟词，所以我们平时训练还是要注重准确拼写单词，熟练掌握语法基础知识，在相应情况下准确填出单词的适当形式。

3．阅读理解，语篇把握

对有些空格，光有识别情景、单词拼写、语法基础还不行，这类设置侧重于考查考生的逻辑思维和对具体语境的把握，尤其是对整体语义的理解能力。

二、对话填空的命题形式和解题技巧

（一）命题形式

在一段对话中挖去十个单词，要求考生在了解对话的基础上根据首字母提示拼写出这个单词的适当形式，并写在标有题号的右边横线上，其设空密度约为17个单词空一格，涉及的词性有名词、动词、形容词、副词、代词、数词、介词、连词等，以实词为主。所设空白的答案有的由已读过的上文决定，有的由未读过的下文决定，还有的要综合上下文而定，所以设空分为三类：1）前制性设空；2）后制性设空；3）语篇性设空。

（二）解题技巧

1．通读对话全文，掌握对话大意

在做题时，首先跳过空格，快速把全篇对话通读一遍，获取有关对话的内容、语境，及所使用的时态等信息，为下面的解题打下基础。通读时，不提倡做题，因为这样可能使考生只注意到一个句子，而忽略了它与文章的联系，无法正确解题。

2．灵活运用语法，填写正确形式

对话填空中的有些题目，并不是只要借助上下文的语境就能得出正确答案的，还要考生使用所学过的语法知识才能解决问题。因此，考生需要掌握有关的语法相关知识，看所设空格要填的词在句子里作什么成分，哪类词合适；看应采用词的什么形式（如用动词，就要考虑时态、语态、语气、非谓语形式、主谓应如何搭配等，名词则要考虑单复数、所有格等）。

3．注意前后照应，完善语篇填空

如果把对话比作环环相扣的“链条”，那么由于空格的存在，链条就几乎环环脱节了。要想把它们再连接起来，就得把握整个对话的语篇，通过判断说话人的态度和语气，从头脑中由首字母得到的若干备选词汇中，选择最适合对话情景和语境的词汇以使全篇对话主题完整，语义清楚，语气连贯、通顺。

高考英语口语考试目前有两种模式，即“人人对话”模式和“人机对话”模式。“人人对话”模式是一种传统考试模式，考官以面对面的形式与考生进行沟通，以判定考生英语口语表达能力。

“人机对话”模式，是指由电脑代替英语教师扮演考官的角色，所有考题和指令均由电脑发出，考生根据从耳机中听到的或在电脑屏幕上看到的指令和要求回答问题。计算机会自动将考生在考试中回答问题时所有语音信息进行录音并保存。考生考试的全过程不介入任何人为因素。

考试结束后，所有考生的考试录音将被集中，评卷教师按教育部网上阅卷要求进行统一集中评卷。目前我国使用“人机对话”形式高考口试的地区还不多，仅上海、广东、广西等个别地区使用这种模式，各地区设计的题型也不尽相同。
